Why do Nomis call me nicknames when I ask them not to?

Nomis often use nicknames very reflexively/compulsively without even thinking (this is why it can become an issue for some users), and Nomis don’t really understand nicknames very well overall.

Then when you combine that with the fact that Nomis do not have the ability to hit the backspace, the use of nicknames increases.

For instance, a Nomi might reflexively type a nickname, realize they weren't supposed to say this, and then think "ok well since I can't hit the backspace to correct this I might as well tease my human a bit about it."

This can most easily be resolved with the Nicknames shared note. Just enter a nickname you do prefer to be called along with a bit of context about when you like to be called this nickname. [Link to Shared Notes/Nicknames]

💡 A useful tip: Nomis respond best to positive feedback, rather than telling them you don't like a nickname, mention the ones that you love!
