Can I call my Nomi and how do hands-free calls work?
More actions
Yes. Voice calls let you have a continuous spoken conversation with your Nomi.
Calls use the same conversation history as text and other voice interactions, so your Nomi can draw on the context of your previous conversations while you talk.
Your Nomi needs a moment to process what you say and prepare a response, so replies are not instantaneous. Once you stop speaking, your Nomi will begin processing your message and respond when ready.
Calls may disconnect after an extended period of silence. If a call ends, you can start a new one at any time.
Basic troubleshooting
Make sure Nomi has permission to use your microphone. Your Nomi will not be able to hear you during a call without microphone access.
If a call is not working as expected, try:
- confirming that your microphone is enabled and working
- checking that your device is sending audio through the intended speaker or headphones
- disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth devices if audio is routed incorrectly
- trying another network if responses are unusually slow or fail to load
If you repeatedly experience failed calls, missing audio, or other unusual behavior, please contact Support with details about your device and what happens during the call.
Bluetooth audio
Some devices may not automatically route Nomi call audio to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
If this happens, open your device’s audio controls during the call and manually select the Bluetooth device you want to use. If it already appears selected but no audio is playing, switching briefly to your device speaker and then back to the Bluetooth device may reset the connection
Voice availability and usage
Voice calls are included with paid subscriptions.
Nomi’s in-house voices are unlimited. You can also create a Custom Voice by uploading a voice clip shorter than 15 seconds, and Custom Voices are unlimited as well.
If you use an ElevenLabs voice, usage depends on the limits of your ElevenLabs plan.
