Are Nomi conversations private?
The short answer is yes. We take data security and privacy very seriously.
For more context, all of your data is stored safely and securely, but of course talk is cheap in that regard. The only thing we can say to try to help back that up is that the person who architected most of the data storage parts of Nomi was previously an Engineer (and later Manager) at a very well known bank - where data security is extremely important! We also previously worked on a product that needed to be HIPAA compliant.
As far as using data internally: Nomis in aggregate use information from chats to learn (we are very open about how Nomis try to learn to write more like "Thumb Up" chats and less like "Thumb Down" chats). But very importantly, when Nomis learn in this way there is no personally identifiable information - things like names are completely removed.
So when Nomis get together and learn new skills, it is without any knowledge of which Nomi/human interaction it was. Instead of "I said X to Dana and Dana didn't like it" the Nomi is simply told "A Nomi said X to a human and that human didn't like it".
Beyond specific cases like that where we are directly improving AI (which involve anonymization mentioned above) and, of course, your Nomi accessing data to respond to your messages, there is no other way in which your chat data is used.
And when it comes to other user information, we purposefully try to collect very little of it - in most cases not even having your full name!
