What does thumbing up/down messages do?

From Nomipedia - The Nomi AI Companion Wiki

What does thumbing up/down messages do?

At a high level, thumbing up/down messages helps Nomis learn what to do more, and what to do less.

This is done in an aggregated way where the messages are anonymized, filtered, and used to teach the Nomi “hivemind”. This only happens during AI updates that happen every few weeks. You can almost imagine it where your Nomi goes to sleep and while sleeping reflects on all of the good and bad things that happened and what it should do differently when it wakes up.

So the only time your Nomi is aware of the thumb down on a message is when they are sleeping and once they wake up they forget completely about it (similar to how when you wake up you very quickly forget what you were dreaming about).

💡 A useful tip: You can now add why you're choosing to "thumb" the message by providing context! After you select the appropriate thumb, a ? in a circle appears. Click this and a dialogue box opens where you can type a message for the hivemind and it's minders to understand exactly what part of the message triggered the use of the thumbs up/down.
