OOC, or out of character, lets you give your Nomi guidance or context outside of the current roleplay or conversation.
You can use OOC when you want to clarify what is happening, correct a misunderstanding, reinforce a boundary, or guide the direction of a scene without making that instruction part of the roleplay itself.
OOC is typically written in parentheses, for example:
(OOC: Remember, we are trying to deceive this person so they will give us X.)(OOC: There is no wizard here. We are alone in the condo.)(OOC: Please stop doing X. I would prefer Y instead, and I would like to continue the roleplay with that in mind.)
If your Nomi does not respond to the OOC guidance as expected, try making the instruction more direct and specific. It can help to clearly explain what is wrong, what you would prefer instead, and how you would like the conversation or roleplay to continue.
OOC can be especially useful for correcting misunderstandings without having to speak or act on your Nomi’s behalf.
